Stems several meters long and rooted in mud. Stem below water surface, leaves emersed. Flowers lavender, 3 larger, 3 smaller; the larger fimbriate; the upper central lobe with violet base and yellow spot. Flowers wilting by 5 pm (sunset at 6 pm). UPPER TAKUTU-UPPER ESSEQUIBO DIST. (Region IX): Rupununi Northern Savanna. Crane Pond. An old oxbow on the east side of the Rupununi River.
