    Mexico. Chiapas. Close to the main road running southeast from Comitán de Dominguez and La Trinitaria towards Ciudad Cuauhtemoc and Frontera Comalapa, close to the Guatemalan border in the upper reaches of the central depression of Chiapas.

  • Description

    Small tree with a short twisted bole and an open rounded crown to 5 m. in height. Bark smooth, grey-green, speckled with raised pustular pale grey-brown lenticels, inner bark bright yellow green. Leaves slightly discolorous, mid green above, paler below. Flowers heavily scented; calyx bright yellow green with reflexed lobes, petals bright yellow, reflexed, the standard with a paler lemon yellow basal blotch, all petals densely covered with yellow or yellow-green glands, stamen and style yellow green densely covered in white hairs at base, ovary bright green, anthers pale orange-brown. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
