Adoxnceae • Sambucus mexicana Presl SAWMILL MOUNTAIN: 5514-ft summit and immediately adjacent slopes. Burnt Peak 7.5' USGS Quadrangle, T7N R.16W, SW/4 NW/4 SE/4 section 15 (projected from section 14). Elevation ca 5460-5514 feet. Summit and adjacent slopes a mosaic of open areas and thickets. Thickets composed of Q. kelloggii, Qu. wislizeni frutescens, hybrids between these two, Rhamnus tomentella cuspidata, Sambucus mexicana, Ceanothus leucodermis, Cercocarpus betuloides, Lonicera interrupta, Keckiella temata septentrionalis, etc. Shrub to ca 25 dm tall, scattered at margins of brushlands; flowers cream-colored.
