Caprifoliaceae Lonicera subspicata Hooker & Amott var. johnstonii Keck "EPIPACTIS CANYON": Un-named canyon draining ENE to Lone Pine Canyon and originating near the E end of Upper Lytle Creek Ridge [Sheep Creek Truck Road, 2N56, drops NEward through the lower half of this canyon]; Cajon 7.5' USGS topo sheet; T2N R6W, SW/4 NW/4 NE/4 section 10; elev. ca. 3380-3480 feet. Riparian strip with scattered willows and "mesic chaparral" species; Epipactis gigantea andPycnan- themum californicum locally abundant along stream; adjacent slopes and flats largely supporting chaparral elements; a few arborescent Quercus chrysolepis localized on mesic lower slopes. Shrub with cream-colored flowers. This material suggesting some introgression from L. interrupta Bentham, the more common species on the northerly slopes of the San Gabriel Mountains. Timothy S.
