PALMS OF VIETNAM
Vietnam. Dong Nai Province: Cat Tien National Park, road along
Dong Nai river, seasonally flooded lowland forest, 11°26’N,
107°26’E, 150 m elevation. 28 May 2007.
Calamuspalustris Griff.	"song”
Stems clustered, 25 m long, 3 cm diameter with sheaths. Sheaths
green with whitish-brown tomentum, densely covered with reddish-
brown spines; ocreas short; knees swollen; petioles 3 cm long;
rachis 170 cm long with 20 pinnae per side, these in remote groups
and spreading in different planes. Inflorescences 130 cm long, not
flagellate, staminate.
