Clustered, high-climbing rattan palm to 25 m long; stems 2.5-3 cm diam. with sheaths, 1.5 cm diam. without; leaves 40-45 cm apart; sheath spines dark brown to black; blade to 2 m long with 30-40 pinnae per side, pinnae clustered in groups of 2-5 and fanned in different planes; petiole 15-20 cm long, cirrus to 1 m long; brownish indûment on sheath and petiole; inflorescences not seen. 8 March 2003 D.R.
