In MP's approximately 10 year old "mauca" being cleared for a new garden. Upland soil near Rio Tutapishcu below the mouth of the Rio Ahuano. In forest as well as forest fallow.

Description
Tree with 1 in. diameter said to be favored by tapir. Inner bark approx. 1/4 in. thick, red fading to brown.
