Description
Tree 9 m. Branches hollow, inhabited by ants. Flowers mostly 7-merous; hypanthium and calyx green; corolla white, pink-tinged on abaxial surface, thick and fleshy; filaments white, connective yellow basally, white distally, thecae grey, stamens in a ring, 330° with style protruding between uppermost stamens; style white, tapering basally, stigma expanded, fluted; ovary inferior, ca 20-carpellate; fruit fleshy, yellow-green, edible. Flowers fragrant. Leaves very brittle, easily crumbling when crushed.
