Primary, evergreen, lowland forest at base of
limestone mountain. Growing in an open area, on rich
soil.
Clusting palm to 1 m, 11 leaves in crown. Leaf
sheaths disintegrating into fibres. Leaves 70 cm long
including 55 cm petiole. Inflorescences amongst
leaves, pale pink, branched to 2 orders. Flowers
yellow-pink inside, rachillae pink-purple, white at the
base.
