Eastern Mesic Longleaf Pine Flatwoods/Eastern Wet Longleaf Pine Flatwood Savannah. Topography: level. Pinus elliottii, Liquidambar styraciflua, Vaccinium elliottii, Diospyros virginiana, Rubus, Smilax, Andropogon spp. Scattered. Sandy silt to silty loam with layer of litter.

Erect, bulbous, perennial herb; 3.5 dm tall. Leaves twisted, corolla yellow.
