Description
Palm, 6-10 m tall, trunks smooth, often slightly swollen irregularly, trunk circumf. at one meter-24 cm, leaves pinnate (12), 70-73 pinnae per side arranged at various angles in groups of 1-4 per side, sheath 20 cm long, petiole 50 cm long, rachis 1.60 m long. Inflorescence a panicle 1 m long, with ca 23-25 rachillae, fruits yellow, 4 cm lg. by 3 cm wide. Bract 1.10 m lg., brown, ridged, persistant. Seedling leaves entire, 1+ m. lg.
