Description
Pileus 7-10 cm broad, dry, convex to plano-convex, subvelutinous to tomentose, deep brown (7-8F8), even at margin. Flesh white to very pale yellow, unchanging, solid, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate, shallow (up to 5 mm long), dull yellow (3B4), unchanging, with pale umber brown pores, unchanging when bruised. Stipe 5-5.5 cm long, 4 cm broad at apex, tapering slightly toward base, dry, densely subpruinose with pale umber pruina to scissurate over a dull pale yellow ground, white at base, with interior white to very pale yellow, unchanging.
