Sand Cemetery (est.1839), % mile north of the Des
Moines River bridge on State Hwy 27. Common along
fence on south side of dry sand prairie, associated with
Cyperus schweinitzii, C. lupulinus subsp. macilentus,
Bouteloua hirsuta, Chloris verticillata, Paspalum
setaceum, Cenchrus longispinus, Ruellia humilis,
Oenothera laciniata, and Gaura parviflora.
First reported from Iowa by Lammers in Sida 17:841-842 (1997),
based on Lammers 10499 (F, isc, NY, tex); the population
represented by that voucher lies 8 miles northeast of this one.
Disc and rays yellow.
