Rocky ridge with grasses and stunted trees, transition between headland and mixed forest.

Description
Shrub; emerging leaves conduplicate, bronze and green; petals white, short; ovary glabrous on top; this species is very common on the preserve. All individuals of the species are in the same phenological state. The morphology and phenology appear to be very consistent throughout the population. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
