Small tree 3m high; bark thin, light brown, peeling of in mature
branches; whole plant especially new growth covered in red-brown
hairs; corolla white, some indviduals with slightly lilac corolla seen
nearby; stems with sharp recurved spines; fruits bright green, nearly
fully enclosed in light green calyx, not yet ripe
