Habitat
Mossy secondary forest on steep slope with Picea sitchensis, Betula papyrifera, Populus balsamifera trichocarpa, Pinus contorta, Alnus rubra; siliceous outcrops and large boulders common. On lightly shaded twigs of Populus balsamifera trichocarpa.
