Partly disturbed cloud forest with Weinmannia dominant.

Description
Treelet. Understory treelet, 4-5 m tall, stems 5-10 cm diameter. Wood very hard. Stems with papillose, creme colored indumentum that rubs off easily. Plant otherwise glabrous. Largest leaves 8.75 cm x 16 cm upper side with scattered papillae. Leaves with very large rolled-back stipule flaps, 1.5 x 0.7 cm, completely rolled in. Flowers deep magenta when young, turning neon bluish green when mature, 2 cm in diam. Inflorescence a dense panicle, 40-60 cm large with 6-100 flowers. Anthers 8, dark purple with bright yellow appendages. Center of young stems and branches bright red when cut.
