mostly pale yellow but with pale purple bands leading to the
tips of each of 5 vague lobes; rare in shrubland on lower
slope underlain by tuffaceous sandstone and conglomerate
of the Tascotal Formation, along nameless short tributary to
Alamito Creek just E of railroad bridge, ca. 1.3 airmiles
NNE of St. Rt. 169 bridge over Alamito Creek just N of
Plata, at N29°53.709\ W104°00.688’. Kennedy Ranch
(Dixon Water Foundation). Plata NE Quadrangle. Elev.
3850-3860 ft.
Associates included Aloysia gratissima, A. wrightii, Brickellia laciniata,
Eragrostis lehmarmiana, Heteropogon contortus, Hibiscus denudatus,
Ipomoea costellata, Parthenium confertum, Viguiera stenoloba.
