Description
Pileus (2-)8.5-9 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, appressed-felty at first, coarsely appressed to suberect squamose with age, light ochraceous at first, then with pale red to pink between and beneath the squamae, with appendiculate veil remnants at margin. Flesh yellow, quickly cyanescent, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, yellow, cyanescent, with pores yellow and cyanescent. Stipe 4-11 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal or sometimes with a slight taper at base, dry, yellow to red at apex, white below, fibrillose striate, staining brown from handling, white at base, with interior white, with some light cyanescence above, staining orange brown toward base.
