Habitat
Riverside, damp sandy soil, sandstone rocks and partly burnt-over vegetation.

Description
Acaulescent palm with fronds to 2 m long, spreading. Inflorescences erect to 60 cm. Spathe greenish-brown outside, cream within. Flowers cream. Fruiting spathe fawn outside, maroon within. Fruit orange when ripe. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
