Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the closest point to the summit of mount Forno Grande on fairly level ground at an altitude similar to the areas surrounding Forno Grande, in Mun. Castelo, Espírito Santo. Using Geonames.org, located the mountain called Forno Grande, then verified its legitimacy by entering "Pico Forno Grande, Espírito Santo, Brazil" into Google Maps - Text Search. Using Google Maps - Terrain View, located the summit of the mountain and found the point best suited to the criteria just described for defining a point at the base of a mountain. Using Google Maps - What's Here tool, found coordinates (final) for this point. Beginning at these coordinates, used Google Maps - Measure Distance tool to measure a straight line to the farthest extent of the mountain (-20.533163, -41.166630; the boundaries for which are sharply defined as Forno Grande can be easily distinguished from the flat areas surrounding it on all sides). Input linear extent (8660.0 m), coordinate precision (0.00001 degrees), datum (WGS84), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the Uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Defined area).
