Peru, Dept Cusco, Prov. Urubamba, across Rio Urubamba from
Ollantaytambo, near Inca bridge; in agricultural land in Urubamba
valley; highly disturbed matorral.
13°45'5111 S, 72°15'39" W Alt: 2836m.
Spreading herb to 1.5 m diameter, ca. 40 cm tall; flowers white,
tinged violet, petals not spreading (cupped at 4:20 pm), eye
greenish yellow (faint); fruit green with white X-shaped stripe when
ripe, sepal tips reflexed in fruit; stems not brittle; inflorescences
occasionally furcate, ca. 2 In this plant).
