Type locality of Pinus strobus L. ssp. cumberlandensis Silba. Disturbed young forest; along gravel road, Pinus strobus, P. virginiana, Sassafras albidum, Cornus florida, Quercus alba, Carya, Acer rubrum, Rhus copallina, Liriodendron tulipfera, Tsuga canadensis, Ilex opaca.

Treelet 3.5m tall, 7cm in diameter. Leaves green above, lighter beneath. Fruit green. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
