Habitat
Bog. On forest floor. In clumps among other mosses of hummocks. Bog forest dominated by Picea mariana, with Thuja occidentalis, Ledum, Kalmia, Chamaedaphne, Carex disperma, Smilacina trifolia, Vaccinium oxycoccus & Sphagnum. Abundant.
