Description
Tree. Tree 30 m x 130 cm diam. Thick plank buttresses ca. 2 m high and extending ca. 3 m from base. Outer bark gray, fairly densely lenticellate, shed acropetally in thick, irregular plates up to 50 cm long and 8 mm thick. Inner bark beige, rose-tinted. Leaves 6-7-jugate. Stipules semi-orbicular, cordate and constricted at base. Fruits pendent, 3.5-4.5 x 2.7-3 cm, consistently slightly obovoid, surface densely white-lenticellate, rest of surface green, mature fruit said by locals to be yellow and eaten by brown lemurs.
