Habitat
Primary montane forest on steep slopes, canopy 10-12 m with emergents to 20+ m, understory dense with poles and slender lianas. Canopy rich in Sapindaceae, Lauraceae, and Clusiaceae; strong presence of Canarium, Dypsis, and in places Marojejya.

Description
Tree. Tree 15 m x 25.8 cm diam. Outer bark gray densely lenticellate, rough sparsely but deeply fisssured, shed in irregular plates up to 5 cm long. Inner bark orange. Phenology of specimen: sterile.
