BRASSICACEAE Nasturtium officinale R. Br.
Semi-aquatic herb, the foliage with sharp taste. "Water
cress". Pistil and filaments first greenish, then
turning purple. Immature fruit purple, soon turning
green.
Abundant, choking the cool, clear water of spring along
county highway OO. This edible species has been
introduced successfully into a large percentage of the
many springs in the county.
