Perennial herbs in wet ditch, stems 1-2
meters tall; heads large; phyllaries
1-resinous nerved, green-tipped; ray
corollas white, disks yellow; cypselae
compressed; pappus with several minute
awns, rays also with 1 longer awn to
about 1 mm long, disks also usually with
2 longer awns about to 1.5 mm long but
much shorter than corolla.
