Growing in a low meadow of a brushy 21 year old old-field. Woth Solidago canadensis, Artemisia vulgaris, juniperus virginiana, and Euthamia graminifolia. Occasional.

Tall arching inflorescence. Glabrous, serrate leaves. Base of stem naked, but with next years basal rossett present. Stalks red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
