Growing epiphytically on Zostera marina Linnaeus var. marina in
the upper subtidal zone. Near the entrance to False Bay, San Juan
Island, Washington, U.S.A. (Lat. 48°29'N. 123°4'W.).
DESCRIPTION: Thallus purplish red in colour, epiphytic, up to 10 cm.
high with numerous obovate to cuneate monostromatic blades arising from
a prostrate cushion-like base.
