Description
Tree, 5 m tall. Trunk branches low to the ground. Twigs with yellowish hairs. Leave spirally arranged and alternate. Annulate stipule scars 1mm in width. Leaves, marge, ca. 37 cm x 22 cm. Petiole ca. 9 cm long, rugose. Hairs present on the main vein of the underside of the leaf. Leaf margin entire, tip short acuminate. Stipule, ca.. 18 cm long, with dense white appressed hairs. Fruit is an immature syncarp, subglobose, ca. 4 cm diameter. Core of the fruit 2 cm loong x 1 cm wide. No seeds are present. The protruding free pistil tips of the individual fruitlets are ca. 3 mm long x 1 mm side with crisped yellowish hairs. Styles bifid, peduncle 1.5 cm. The male inflorescences are ca. 5 mm long x 3 mm wide. Peduncle, 7 mm with long yellow hairs. Interfloral peltate bracts arepresent in the male. Cultivated. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
