  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Referred to Geody website (http://www.geody.com/geospot.php?world=terra&ufi=77159&alc=grp) for precise location of Igarapé Tucunaré, along Rio Cuieiras. Using Google Maps, located Igarapé Tucunaré in Amazonas, BR. Used distance measurement tool to measure a straight line starting at the beginning of Igarapé Tucunaré (at mouth, where it branches from Rio Cuieiras) to the approximated end of the river (approximated through the dense forest); halved this distance to find the location of the midpoint of the river. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint, on land adjacent to the river. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest point along the river, 1527.18 m.), and measurement error (.01 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
