W. A. SETCHELL.
Under the name Callophyllis furcata Fallow, are at present
included all the Californian forms of the genus which have large cys-
tocarps occupying the disk of the frond. The frond is variously di-
vided, but the main divisions are palmate. The form distributed
here is forma typiea, Farlow in litt. which has 1 he main divisions
entire; other forms may have the main divisions much dissected,
when the form is to be called forma dissecta Farlow in litt. The
forms of this species have been known to American writers and col-
lectors under the names, C. obtusifolia and C. discigera.
