Description
"1329/57 C SD L 1329/57 Onomichi Botanic Gard" Tree 90 cm in diameter; bark platy. The ground under the entire canopy is littered with thousand of twigs which have been nipped off by squirrels (to lick the sap of the stump?) in the last couple of days and continuing at least until Aug . 18, the canopy by now definitely drastically thinned. All these specimens from twigs on the ground. Fruit green. A nearby tree, "1329/57 B" with otherwise the same information on tag, is from the same source and is very similar in all ways, butwithout a single twig cut by squirrels, and the canopy full. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
