Portland Parish: John Crow Mountains. About 2 miles
SW of Ecclesdown following forestry road W and then trail
into slopes of mountains. Trail head at 18 degrees 2'
49.2"N, 76 degrees 20' 39.1"W. Collections at 18 degrees
02' 31.1"N, 76 degrees 21' 9.5"W. At "Proctor's Pool"
locality. Elev. 657-660 m. Beautiful, moist elfin forest near
ridge of John Crow Mountains; slight depression near
stream, muddy, and obviously sometimes holding water.
With Miconia ampla, Conostegia rufescens, C. icosandra,
C. pyxidata, C. superba, Meriania leucantha, Miconia
dodecandra, M. tetrandra, M. ciliata, Ossaea scabmsa,
Mecranium (possible new species). Uncommon tree to 12
m tall.
