An about 150 years old secondary forest.

Description
Solitary, stem 21 m tall, 25 cm in diameter, greyish; coma with 13 contemporaneous leaves; sheat 11 dm long; petiole 1 dm long; rachis 24 dm long, with 148 pairs of pinnae aggregated and inserted at various angles. Few inflorescences per plant, all about in the same stage; basal bract 6 dm long, the second bract 13 dm long; peduncle 4 dm long, with 2 other somewhat enlarged bracts; rachis 9 dm long, with 172 rachillas; rachis and rachillas yellowish. Frequent, at this time normally fruiting, this is the only flowering plant seen. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
