Description
Tree. This area shows the effects of fires and thousands of small trees are growing. These are all "pygmies." Often a complete tree can be found for an herbarium specimen-- as has been done with this collection. The seeds gathered here were taken from trees that were less than 6 ft. high. Hardpan plus overcrowding makes the dwarfs. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
