Growing in swampy areas.

Description
3 m. bushes with red-brown pubescent stems. Leaves lustrous green above, paler beneath. Flowers in showy terminal racemes with bright red filaments. Style white. Petals without pubescent covering. Pods green turning dark brown when ripe with dense red detachable prickling hairs. Associated material: seed photos. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
