Habitat
Broad wet meadow, densly beset with Eleocharis pauciflora, running S to N, fed from perennial seeps on S edges. Closely surrounded by Pinus contorta and Populus tremuloides woodland. Uplands of Artemisia tridentata/ Purshia tridentata scrub. Scattered around meadow.

1-1.5m high. Twigs dark brown, somewhat glaucous. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
