Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the cities of Feira de Santana and Rio de Janeiro, the road that most clearly and directly links them together, BR 116, and the place where this road crosses the Rio Jacuípe at approximately 8 km from a point near the center of the city of Feira de Santana. Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates (final) for this point along the banks of the Rio Jacuípe. Using Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps), approximated the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates alongside the shore to the farthest point along either shore within direct line of sight from the starting coordinates (-12.2699168 -39.0039968).
