steeply (ca. 60°0 slanting sandstone outcrop. with islands of shrub (Gaylussacia baccata, Vaccinium pallidum, V. corymbosum, and small Pinus rigida, Oxydendrum arboreum, and Betula lenta)-lichen (Cladonia spp)-moss (Polytrichastrum pallidisetum, P. ohioense, leucobryum albidum, and Dicranum spurium) mats interspersed with extensive areas of Umbilicaria muehlenbergii and Lasallia papulosa and bare rock. on soil over outcrop.
