forest on slope above stream; km 1223.
Serra do Cachimbo. Serra Maze and vicinity; 1208-1229 km N
of Cuiabci along CuiabS-Santarem highway (BR 163); ca 5°55'S,
55°40'W, el ca 100-200 m; mature, tall, humid forest on steep
slopes and valleys, with occasional igarapes and igneous rock ex-
posures.
Collected April-May 1983 with the support of the National Science Foundation, the Conselho Na-

stituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazfinia, The Milwaukee Public Museum, and The University
