    Shrublet to 2 dm tall, rhizomatous. Leaf pubescence cinerous to tan. Pedicels, calyx & bracts dark rose-red. Corolla pink, angled. Fruiting calyx fleshy; capsule fleshy, bright red, pulpy within, becoming dry and brown at maturity. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
