Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 10 km east of the city of Manaus in Mun. Manaus, Amazonas. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the city of Manaus. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the city. Because the city has defined spatial boundaries on Google Maps, used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the city. To find the location of the offset, input coordinates (-3.0479568, -59.9750465), linear extent (17.3860 km), offset direction (E), offset direction (10 km), measurement error (.0005 km), and distance precision (10 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the offset coordinates and the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset at a heading).
