Habitat
Tabocal (forest dominated by Guadua weberbaueri) on mostly level terrain. Canopy open, low tree density, understory open in places. Rare. Soils poorly drained in most places.

root-climbing epiphyte. Root-climbing epiphyte, flowers on plagiotropic branches, bracts deep red, corolla white (unopened). Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
