Plants tufted, 1-2 cm. high, dichotomously divided; branches few, 19-35
mic. in diameter; cells 1.5 times as long as broad; plurilocular sporangia
oblong or broadly elliptical, borne on a 1-2-celled stalk on the main fila-
ment or branches, 22-35 mic. wide, 30-40 mic. long; propaguli on separ-
ate plants, obcordate, scattered.
Growing on Turbinaria ornata, washed up on beach.
Kahuku point, Koolauloa, Oahu, Territory of Hawaii.
The plant is smaller in all its parts than the. measurements given for S. tribu-
loides but otherwise agrees both with description and authentic specimens.
