Habitat
Dry slopes, cultivated fields. Stachys atherocalyx, Cardaria draba, Dactylis glomerata, Caucalis daucoides, Coriandrum sativum.

Description
Perennial herb. Tunic with coarse fibres. Basal leaf-sheaths usually pale to dark red or pale green; leaves 3-5, basal ensiform, cauline 5-10mm wide, irregularly veined. Inflorescence 6 to 16 flowered. Bracts always exceeding bracteoles. Perianth bright purplish-red to light pink, with lateral perianth segments oblong. Anthers longer than filaments or aborted. Capsule torulose; seeds globose-pyriform, not winged. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
