Climbing vine. Fruit green. Leaves rubbed
between palms & rubbed onto abdomen by
Paumaris Indians to kill fetus and abort
pregnancy. «The ladies claim that the abort-
ants P21231 & P£l232 ‘are very effective &
take only a few hotMt§ to kill fetus. Mission-
ary Shirley Chapman haS observed & treated a
large number of hemmorages due to abortions
induced by plants. The tribe claim to have
no contraceptives, only abortives. Fruits not
collected by collectors but brought in sep-
