Habitat
Rich moist ground of a densely wooded flat.

Description
Rather small tree. stem subterete, 1.5 ft. thick, crooked, 35 ft high, buttressed at the base; fruits densely clustered from the larger branches; calyx cup shining deep green, constricted below the middle, irregularly round, nuts flattish globose, greenish white, 3/4 inch across. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
