  • Habitat

    Shrubby, rocky area along Río Unduavi. Shrubland with Solanum ochrophyllum, S. acuminatum, S. whalenii, S. sinuatiexisum, S. pallidum, Saracha punctata, originally a short humid forest.

  • Description

    Erect herbs, slightly woody below, to 1.4 m. tall, when alone somewhat weak, and somewhat scrambling when among shrubs. Inflorescence showy, with many open flowers at one time; flowers buds held downwards, the face of the open corollas forming a parasol arrangement; flowers odorless (11:00 A.M., bright but foggy); corolla 5-angled and white in bud, but soon light violet. Anthers yellow. Fruit yellow-green, on reflexed pedicels, held downwards. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
